Road Safety Audits

Road Safety Audit is a process applied to highway design, construction, operation and maintenance, whereby safety engineering knowledge is applied so that the number of accidents is kept to a minimum taking into account economic and environmental constraints. They are a proactive approach to improving transportation safety. An RSA is an examination of a future or existing roadway, in which an independent, qualified auditor reports on safety issues.
